Raised in the predominantly Muslim city of Tripoli, Lebanon, Georges Houssney came to faith in Jesus as a teenager, experiencing a profound transformation.
God soon stirred in him a deep love for Muslims and a call to full-time ministry among them.
In 1982, Georges and his family moved from the Middle East to the United States to minister to international students.
This move marked a transition in his ministry, expanding his reach to diverse people seeking education and a better life in the United States.

Supervising Bible Translation
Georges is well-known for his work supervising the translation and publication of the Bible into clear modern Arabic. This monumental task helped make the scriptures accessible to millions of Arabic-speaking people, bridging cultural and linguistic gaps.
The Arlington Statement on Bible Translation is a statement on faithful principles of Bible translation.
Horizons International is one of the statement’s initial signing organizations.
Journal of Biblical Missiology is a global network committed to restoring the gospel to missions and missions to the church.
Since its founding in 2009, Biblical Missiology has become a significant voice among scholars, churches, and Christians who are committed to both a biblical theology and practice of missions. Collaborating with ministries and scholars across the world, Biblical Missiology’s purpose is to equip churches to responsibly fulfill their task in carrying out the Great Commission under the authority of scripture.
Biblical Missiology’s collaborative community of Christian leaders, converts from Islam, indigenous church leaders, missionaries, and theologians are seeking a gospel-oriented view on current missions trends and controversies. The organization focuses on evangelism, discipleship, and leadership development, particularly among Muslim communities. Through various programs and initiatives, Horizons International has continued to impact lives and spread the message of hope and love for 34 years.
